Active Aging Resource Center - October 30, 2025

The menu for the Active Aging Resource Center for the week of Nov. 3 - 7:  

Monday – hamburger with grilled onions, diced potatoes, buttered carrots, fruit; 

Tuesday - chicken alfredo, mixed vegetables, lettuce salad, fruit; 

Wednesday – ham and beans, spinach, cornbread, strawberries; 

Thursday – meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, peas, applesauce; 

Friday — baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, peach cobbler; 

Salad bar every Wednesday 

BINGO every Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. 

Game night every Thursday, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. 

October 30 - Center will be closing at 1:00 p.m. 

November 5-7 - Medicare Open Enrollment Event 9-12 at Pattonsburg Senior Center 

It is currently Medicare Open Enrollment. Between now and December 7th, you can change your Medicare Prescription Drug or Medicare Advantage coverage for 2026. It’s a good idea to check your current coverage, compare your options for next year, and explore savings options that may be available to you. 

Deanna will be at Jamesport City Hall on Wednesday, October 29th from 9:00-12:00, and at Pattonsburg Multi-Purpose Center on Wednesday, November 5th from 9:00-12:00 for comparisons. No appointment is necessary. Bring your Medicare card and a current medication list. 

Unfortunately, our meal program is forced to make some changes due to the federal shutdown, and our contract with the area agency on aging being cut by 75% effective November 1. We will be modifying our meals and menus to help cut costs. We will also begin our annual Light a Candle program immediately. Please donate to our center in memory of or in honor of a loved one. Your loved one’s name will be posted at our center. All donations are tax-deductible and will be used to continue serving meals. Thank you for supporting our older adults. Our normal hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
